The qualified candidate will have the following experience:Selects and sets up tooling, operates and adjusts all machine toolsInspect own work and the work of others for quality and dimensional requirementsPerforms routine maintenance of equipmentDesigns tooling and parts and does bench workUses typical tool room inspection equipment and gagesWorks from design sketches, samples and verbal instructionsUse involved shp mathCleans work area, parts and equipmentSharpens and maintains tooling as requiredWorks independently and requires a minimal amount of supervisionOccasionally performs work in other tradesPerforms work in the mechanic’s skill area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, pipefitting, hydraulics and building maintenanceDiagnose complex equipment failures and plant machineryDismantle, repair and reassemble complex equipment and plant machinery General: Have a very broad knowledge of applied machinist practices, techniques and theory of operation. Work on ladders, scaffolds and in pits. Set up and adjust hand-welding equipment including but not limited to electric arc, oxyacetylene, stick, wire, cutting torch and plasma cutter. EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent, Trade School, Certificate of Specialization or two years experience
